CALLIE'S 8TH BIRTHDAY PARTY !!

Well, as I mentioned in my earlier blog, October is a busy month for birthdays in our house. Callie turned eight on Wednesday, October 15th and we celebrated this weekend with about 17 little friends for a cosmic bowling party! It was alot of fun for the kids and for me and Stan.
Of course, the night wouldn't be complete until we had a few girlfriends over for a sleepover. We are soooo glad everyone has gone home and we can now reclaim our house back. Next October will be here before we know it !!

MYA ROO

MADDIE TURNS 12 !!

I can't believe my baby is now 12 years old! Seems like yesterday, Stan and I were in the hospital 2 weeks after my due date to be induced for labor. Maddie has always been happy with her surroundings and made the best of any situation. So I guess it makes since now that she was perfectly happy staying put in her Mommy.
We took a group of girlfiends to WonderWorks , an interactive funhouse that features simulated rollercoasters, tornados, earthquakes, etc. The kids loved playing laser tag and using tokens in their arcade.
We didn't get home last night until after 10pm and had ice cream cake and sleepovers. Stan and I always gear up for a busy October because Callie's birthday is this week (Oct 15th) so we will be doing the next party next weekend. I'll be sure to post the pics!

RANDOM PICS

Hey Everyone
So sorry it has been sooo long since my last blog entry. I have started a new job about a month ago and I have been sooo busy. I love my new position as office manager of this dental group here in Orlando and Leesburg. I will add some pics of the offices and of their website as soon as I get them going.
It was funny, last week we had a Yellow Pages.com camera crew come out and film a advertisement for our practice, and they wanted me to do the intro and some some entries in their ad. I'll try to link you to see it!
I included some fun pics that make me think of great times! Hope everyone is doing well!

GO AWAY FAY!!

After 4 days of pounding rain and 50 mph winds, we were all ready for Tropical Storm Fay to go away! The girls had just started school when they closed school for two days after the storm stalled over central Florida. We fortunately had no damage done to our neighborhood or ever lost power but the poor souls on the Atlantic coast got hammered with so much rain (over 25 inches in 48 hrs!!) Stan had been out of town in Michigan for a managers meeting so he missed all the fun! :)

BACK TO SCHOOL

Last Monday, the 18th, was the girls first day back at school. I think we were all happy to get back on a schedule and they were glad to see their friends. I went to meet Maddie's new middle school teachers the week before and was so impressed with everyone. Both schools are state of the art schools that are only a few years old. Maddie's 6th grade class alone has over 460 students -the school is huge! Fortunately, all her classes are closeby except for Band. She loves riding the bus with her neighborhood friends.
Callie's teacher looped with her class so we knew what to expect for 2nd grade. She was so happy to have all her old friends plus a few new ones from last year.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STAN

We celebrated Stan's 40 something birthday last week with a dinner at Longhorns and ice cream cake. The girls decorated the house with balloons and a homemade birthday banner. As the card my Mom sent Stan said, don't count your years, make your years count. (or was it "beers"?) Either way, that's pretty good advice!

FATAL ACCIDENT IN OUR LAKE

Last Wednesday am around 4am, we hear a loud splash from our backyard lake. We look outside to see taillights going under the water! After calling 911, we see helicopters and rescue vehicles arrive. It was only after sunrise and dive recovery teams came did we realize that the young man driving the car drown. Appatently, he was driving too fast and ignored the stop sign at the T-intersection that runs ddirectly to the lake. It was terrible thinking about the poor family of this 24 year old as they pulled him from the lake. We all said a prayer for the family. Life can change in an instant.

LITTLE MYA ROO

Our new puppy, Mya, is a trip! She must have some kangaroo in her because she jumps vertically and pounces on everything and everyone. She and Oscar are getting along great and its nice to see both of them running and playing. Oscar definetely gets his exercise now. Used to be that Oscar wouldn't leave her alone, its completely opposite now that she is bigger. He has to hide from her to get any rest!

NEW BRICK PATIO

We recently had a brick paver patio completed in our back yard. We love being able to sit outside and enjoy the great sunshine. The kids and their friends have all now found a shady spot to hang out and eat popscicles. Having our own little oasis by the lake while we grill out is awesome! You can't tell by the pics, but it is scalloped around the outside-we wanted it to look like a seashell.

THANKS SUSAN, LESLIE AND MOM

A big shout out to my sisters, Susan and Leslie and my Mom for putting me and the girls up this week. Mom, thanks for picking us up at the airport and having us for the weekend. We had a great time.
Susan, thanks for a wonderful, relaxing week at your beautiful beach house in Avalon. It was great to see you and the kids. If it weren't for the distance from Florida, we would be there all the time!
Leslie, You are a hoot! We laughed so much together this week. You are the best. Thanks for driving back to the airport and putting up with rooming with me and the
girls. And remember "there's always tommorrow" and "it's too late to apologize"!!

HAPPY 5OTH B-DAY, UNCLE BILL!!

While visiting with my family in Avalon, NJ , we all decided to celebrate my brother Bill's 50th birthday coming up. Bill may be turning 50 but he still acts and looks much younger! Maddie and Callie love to see Uncle Bill because he is as crazy as they are. Happy Birthday, Bill-we love you sooo much!

FUN IN AVALON, NJ

After a few days at Mom and Leslie's house, we all drove up to stay at my sister Susan's beachhouse in Avalon, NJ. What a place!! We spent the week laying out on the beach, collecting sea shells and catching up with my sisters, Mom and my Aunt Charlotte. We were so excited that my brother Bill was able to coordinate a business trip to NY to drive over to stay the night. Hard to believe that 3 years have passed since the four of us siblings have all been together. Too Long!!
